A Flood Crisis is Happening Now

Let's join together to support our friends in Nepal.

£2K

Direct transfers of Money to the Peace Garden School and Noble School.

Both, Arjun and Manoj, Headmasters, will use their own cash to support the community with food, water and other resources.  Our transfer gives them the financial security to act.

£3K

Financial Support given to the Annandit Charity Centre.

Our friends at the Annandit Charity Centre, who we donate to regularly, have set up an emergency aid response to the crisis.  We are supporting them to carry out their important work.

£2K

Financial Support given to distribute emergency aid bundles.

These bundles include the following items and are being distributed to areas we support.

  • 3 kg Beaton rice
  • 2.5 kg sugar
  • 1 kg tea
  • 2 litres cooking oil
  • 6 bars of soap
  • 6 packs of washing soap
  • ½ kg spices
  • 1 kg soybeans

Flood Damage To Farmers Crops

This video shows the are the water has damaged after the flood.  The brown area in the field should be green just like the rest of the film.

This is a classic rice growing paddy field area, located in the Bungamati village area, close to the Piece Garden School.

Starting to Rebuild

Homes of villagers being supported by Arjun and the Peace Garden School.  It is going to be a long process but we are so happy to be able to support, even a little bit, the actions of people like Arjun, who in turn is direct funds towards those that have lost so much.

Here is a family that has recently restored their home.

News from Manoj - Headmaster of the Noble School

Dear Keith,

Today we distributed all the stuff that we have brought. They are really very pleased to have all the stuff. They thanked you also. We also give some amount to our students to have new dresses for them and buy necessary items.

Thank you Keith and RNV team very much for your quick help. Your help makes their life easier. We are trying to help some other people also who have nothing to eat. I will let you know later

Manoj

Deeds Not Words

Res Non Verba

How better to illustrate the meaning of our charity, by the actions of the community we call our friends.  Aid bags arriving at the leprosy colony, Bikash and his family leading the distribution, which has been organised by Mike Lock and his team.  Our thanks to those friends in Nepal that are able to act in times of need to support the community we cherish so much.

We are so happy to have been able to support this effort financially and thank all the donors who have contributed.

WHAT CAN WE DO?

We feel so far away at times like this and knowing what to do has been hard to decide.  RNV Nepal is here for the long term, so we are working on two main areas.

For short term emergency aid we are supporting our friends in Nepal.  They are the experts and they know what the needs are of the people, now.  Therefore, financial support will be given to those organisations we know well to support the community in the Kohkana district of southern Kathmandu.

In the long term we will be raising funds to assist the communities in rebuilding and recovering from yet another natural disaster.
